Psychic Dependency on the Psychic Reading Circuit

There is a need in all of us to question things in our life; to wonder, to contemplate to verify, to know. Sometimes that need leads us to someone who can bring insight and clarity into a matter that may be troubling us based on Higher Guidance. Why is it that some can get the value of a spiritual consultation or psychic reading, while others become susceptible to fueling the human conditions such as emotional deprivation, depression, grief or perception of loss of any kind; and, instead of alleviating these things as a result of psychic advice regarding an issue in your life, the readings shift into filling an emptiness that becomes increasingly difficult to manage and triggers what is termed “psychic addiction” or “psychic dependency.”

I recall a reading I was giving on a psychic network on the web, where thousands of advisers were offering their services–although no special skills or knowledge is required to give advice there. Since I own and operate my own service outside of any network, I have been able to experience a sharp disparity in the seekers who call network psychics and seekers who call for a private consultation.

Most often, seekers of psychic advice who are calling psychics on a network will call hundreds of different psychics asking them the same questions. Even when advised not to do this, the temptation is too strong for them to resist. They call and call trying to determine if what one psychic said would be verified by another, then another and another. On and on until the querent (the seeker) begins to call psychics armed with information they “believe,” because they have been told, and which now takes on a new quality or dimension in a reading which actually begins to alter the baseline circumstances and causes a shift in what is picked up from psychic to psychic. In other words, somewhere the initial concern gets cluttered with unsubstantiated facts and predictions and consequently new feelings arise out of what they now believe and begin to feel they already know. A real psychic picks up thoughts, feelings, etc., but when a querent has new feelings and thoughts based on what they have been told my hundreds of psychics, this becomes a form of “transformed energy.” Many psychics find themselves struggling with what they “see” versus what the client is telling them. It takes a skilled spiritual adviser to get past these new beliefs and pre-conceived ideas and to get to the bottom of the matter, undiluted by junk (most likely idealistic and often fanciful information where things turn out precisely as the seeker wants them to). A common misconception is when a psychic picks up on another’s emotions and when favorable to the client, it is mistakenly turned into a favorable prediction of the future. This is where skill and experience is necessary.

Many times these predictions are not accurate although many psychics pick up similar details in the past and present; so you can imagine the kind of confusion that will develop over a period of time after consistently going from one psychic to another. Suddenly there is no clarity, there is only confusion, there are no answers, and there are many answers. In fact, there are too many answers–too many viewpoints, too many subjective opinions, too many readings from too many different [misguided] advisers who say opposite things from each other. Then, in the confusion, the seeker continues to ask psychic after psychic trying to get even more answers and it becomes a vicious cycle. This is particularly evident in large networks with large numbers of individuals trained to give script readings or cold readings-a place where the chances of finding an authentic psychic is about two in literally hundreds (approx. 0.5%). This is not a place for someone who has dependency issues. Getting psychic readings can be just as addictive as anything that one can become dependent on– as addictive as drugs or alcohol. As studies have shown, the tendencies are usually already there genetically for drugs and alcohol as these addictions span familial generations. For people who have found themselves addicted to psychic readings, a similar process is going on. Of course, there have not been clinical studies verifying psychic addiction compared to drug or alcohol addiction, or psychological addiction; but rest assured the same impulses and tendencies are inherent in this behavior with just as serious consequences resulting from calling too many psychics too often. The seeker now is going to the psychic to get a temporary fix where the idealistic, unrealistic information given now is what the seeker is seeking rather than illumination. The seeker becomes addicted to the “good feeling” he receives after hearing that everything is going to work out exactly as he or she wants. This works for a while until the seeker comes to the full realization, that they have been a victim of deceptive practices or even as a result of well-intentioned psychic advisers who find themselves susceptible to these pitfalls. That’s when things get ugly and there are now thousands of bitter seekers who may finally reach a genuine psychic who can help them, but will never be able to recognize it because this is the point where a seeker calls and is “abrupt, impatient and ready to harass” an unsuspecting and real spiritual adviser.

I would like to point out my experience as an authentic psychic intuitive and the impression I am left with when I speak with seekers on a network as compared with those in a private consultation. Those who call me privately usually have done their research about psychics, most have often already been through the network psychics and have become totally disillusioned, yet their own intuition is telling them that something real is out there. They just have to try a little harder to find someone who is legitimate, someone whose ability is outweighed only by their integrity and deep commitment to truth.

Individuals who come to an authentic private psychic adviser are, for the most part, ready to hear the truth and they are relaxed and open and do not usually have barriers. If there are barriers, because the consultation is not interrupted when your money runs out, the private adviser is able to relax the client and prepare them for an authentic reading before they start. Unlike on networks the seeker wants to jump right into their reading without hesitation in varying states of mind, and often times is not ready for a real reading because they are on the clock and in a hurry. During a private consultation, seekers can get the answers they need, leave the reading feeling empowered and positive and will feel satisfied until their next reading. Psychic networks enable people who have psychic dependency. They do not help with their problem; they just make it worse by causing them to spend more money than they can afford exacerbating their problems as opposed to alleviating them.

I also found that many seekers on networks can be abrupt, impatient, totally unappreciative of the process of getting a real psychic reading and really do not know what a real psychic reading is suppose to offer or what they should reasonably expect. At this point they are frustrated because they have gotten too many readings and they don’t know what to believe and are somewhat angry and this puts up a barrier to tuning in properly and connecting with Higher Consciousness for the reader. A psychic cannot answer all of your questions. They do not know ALL. They can give you their “impressions” based on the questions-usually a piece of the puzzle. They can guide you to find your own answers, using your own intuition. But a psychic needs to start clean with a situation but when a client brings in so many varying factors (e.g., beliefs and ideas that they have received from other psychics), this presents a block. Some psychics will create a fantasy and the seeker then, in turn, feeds on the fantasy, which is totally unethical. A good psychic will help you to find your self, your center and give you exceptional insights, predictions and accurate information. But it is amazing how most network psychics for the most part cannot make accurate predictions. I have found that both the seeker and psychics feed off of each other, turning the experience to one that is far from real, spiritually connected knowledge. They are using each other. I have often times found it difficult to read seekers on networks and I’m sure the experience was mutually frustrating, and this is not what a reading is supposed to be.

For those who have found themselves feeling out of control because of their need to have constant readings, you will need to get this under control by seeking professional counseling as there are other underlying issues that need attention and the average run of the mill fake psychic working on a network will not be able to help you. You must do your part to break the PsyCle of Mutual Exploitation! A private psychic consultation with an authentic psychic intuitive will show you what a real spiritual reading really is. It can answer your questions and leave you feeling free, not shackled to an interminable sense of hopelessness and helplessness and “needing” to get on the fast food psychic junkie circuit. You can change any habit and this one could very well be easier than you think, especially once you find out what a real psychic reading really can do to improve your life.

Why Some Psychics Are Better Than Others

Does it seem like the more you get to know about psychics the more muddled everything becomes? For instance, one might tell you your Aunt Bess who passed away over a couple of years ago is coming through only to discover you don’t have an Aunt Bess, although there could be one twice removed from an acquaintance three blocks down across the street, uh hem. Yet another psychic starts out by saying that you’ll be meeting your soul mate soon, just around the corner, “Great!” you think “Can I get a clue as to which corner?”

Not all psychics are this vague but it does typify what a lot of people have come to expect. Through it all and however much you want to believe, nothing seems to pan out, leaving you a little light in the wallet and all the none wiser for the experience. What is it that makes each psychic so vastly different? One can be spot on each and every time while another will miss the mark more often than not. Have you ever just wondered why that is?

Psychic Equality?

One erroneous assumption a lot of people make is that all psychics are created equal and should therefore provide the exact same services. The truth of the matter is that some may be simply more experienced than others, still others should consider being lawyers or brain surgeons as more lucrative and honest options and, even more subtle, not everyone has the same resources from which to share their gifts. Resources in this case referring to the environment we have been raised in with its unique information, education and cultural considerations.

In my travels I’ve had ample opportunity to investigate the differences between the good, the bad and the psychically challenged. In all, there’s been a lot of bad to be fairly alarmed at how they continue to operate; however, on the up side, there’s also been a sufficient number of good ones to believe that they do exist, and likewise enough of the moderately gifted to appreciate that there is still a lot of budding talent out there.

Don’t automatically assume that after having one disappointing reading that all psychics are frauds or fakes; there are many genuinely gifted psychics out there, you just need to find them and with a little help you can. Of course, you’re probably not likely to revisit a bad or marginally gifted psychic again too soon, but it would be nice to know how to avoid them or even better yet, what to do if you’ve managed not to avoid them after all.

What Makes a Psychic a Better Psychic?

Just as a gifted pianist doesn’t remain gifted for long if they don’t practice, the same is true for any psychic. Although the penchant for playing the piano may always be there, a piano will never be anything more than a wooden box of potential until someone sits down to interpret the intricate beauty of its melody hidden deep within.

For a psychic the wooden box is analogous to the universal energy we are all surrounded by, and the melody hidden deep within is the spiritual tapestry upon which we are all writing our journey. Like a maestro conducting a symphony, the same is true for the genuinely talented psychic, they both tap into the unique elements of their boxes in order to create astounding feats of splendor.

From this perspective, although we are all psychic per se; in terms of “professional” psychics I am referring to someone who has skillfully honed their abilities to a point of being a master pianist. In some cases as with the child prodigy, many psychics have played their pianos before in previous lives and as a result seem to possess an uncanny capacity for their art in this lifetime.

The Nature of the Beast

To better understand the nature of the beast it’s best to get a basic grasp of psychic fundamentals. First, is the fact that we are all by virtue of being human, naturally imbued with some level of psychic ability. That is to say; our spirit, otherwise known as the part of us that lives on after physical death, provides us with special inherent psychic abilities.

Second, although it is our human birthright to possess this talent, it’s wholly up to each of us whether to exercise that right or let them lay dormant for however long we choose. In some cases these abilities remain dormant for reasons unique to the individual, usually associated with their present life learning process. After all, the best learning is through experience and best experiences are those that are unexpected and spontaneous. Who knew that being ignorant had its merits?

Finally, that said, those who have chosen to become “professional” psychics have developed those skills through the only medium that any of us are presently aware of; our physical world. In connection with this unique medium, the body’s five senses and human thought at its center serve as our preceptors of this reality. As a result of living within such a dense medium, spiritual communications can be rather limited and the learning curve for such professionals quite steep. If to err is human, then to make errors is perfectly human – just assume some psychics can be more perfect than others in this respect.

Finding the Better Psychic for your Needs

Bearing in mind that not all psychics are created equal anymore than any two humans are exactly alike; the measurement of a psychic’s ability or “quality ranking” can be very tenuous at best but not impossible. The first thing you need to consider before finding a psychic is the reason you’re seeking them in the first place. Just as you probably wouldn’t see a foot surgeon to take care of a headache, you might not consider seeing a Forensic Psychic if all you want to know is when your next love is coming into your life.

Understanding some psychic lingo of the trade can be very helpful when considering your options. For instance if you see the words:

1. Psychic Intuitive – you can expect to see someone whose skills are more in line with educated guessing. Yes, they are psychic; however, their level of awareness borders more on gut feeling than objective awareness. The plus part of an Intuitive is that they are more often than not reasonably priced, their accuracy is probably a little better than average, but most of all their insights can be very helpful and better than most.

2. Psychic Medium – this is a person with exceptional psychic abilities who is very adept at contacting relatives and/or loved ones who have passed over. While their accuracy is very keen, you can expect to pay quite a bit more for their services depending on the demand.

3. Psychic – is an oversimplified term that will require some investigation. Don’t be afraid to ask what their gifts are and request an explanation if you’re not sure. Generalities like this often assume you will not ask any difficult or detailed questions. It’s your nickel, be sure to get the best advice your nickel can buy.

4. Forensic Psychic – a person who specializes in solving crimes.

5. Clairvoyant, Clair audient, Clair essence, and Empathic – all denote some form of psychic ability dependent on the senses. These terms are used to help clarify how the psychic provides their services. Again, prices should be reasonably in line with an Intuitive and their element of accuracy.

There are many other forms of psychic specialties, each with their own implied limitations and price range. The best rule of thumb is to ask yourself how valuable this service is worth to you and are you willing to pay the price for that service. If the answer is no, then don’t.

Tips on Finding a Better Psychic

“Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.”

One of this century’s most renowned psychic mediums, Edgar Cayce, once said “Spirit Is the Life, Mind Is the Builder, the Physical Is the Result.” Simply stated, “As your spirit goes, so you will think, which will ultimately determine how matters will proceed and end up.” If you’re predisposed to thinking all psychics are fakes, chances are all psychics you meet will be. On-the-other-hand, if you keep an open mind and consider the possibilities, chance is that you’ll greatly enhance the likelihood of finding a genuine psychic sooner than later.

“Look with before you leap.”

Be prepared to ask questions and get answers before settling on any one psychic. If you can, look for references regarding the psychic’s prior work. Most psychics cannot provide a guarantee as their underlying clause is “For entertainment purposes only.” Consider wisely where your money is going before you give it.

“Don’t prime the pump unless you’re willing to get dirty.”

If you’re being asked for additional sums of money for special ceremonies or rites, kindly pick yourself up and leave. Chances are in this situation that you’re being baited for more and more funds and it will not stop if you allow it to continue. A genuine psychic will respect your wishes and provide the best services possible at the agreed upon price without bilking for more.

Being a better psychic isn’t just a matter of experience but is much like an artist and her paint; you can have all the tools you’ll need but if you lack the passion and vision to create a masterpiece chances are you’ll be painting by numbers and wondering why everything looks the same. After all, it is our love and the desire to share it that creates the foundation of a better psychic, anything short of that is like painting in thin air; it may feel right at the moment but in the end there isn’t much to see.

Whether you desire is to become an outstanding psychic or you’re looking to find one, the process is still the same. Ask the universe or God for what you need and then have the courage to find it. A lot of us know how to ask but later fall short of the goal expecting it to land in our laps without much effort. Anything good in life is not without its dues and as Thomas Edison once remarked, “Genius is 95% perspiration and 5% inspiration.”

The War Between Psychic and Skeptic

Psychics have been the target of skeptics for many, many years. This is understandable for many reasons, the first reason being that there have been many fake, psychic “scammers” throughout history. Fake psychics use other people’s vulnerabilities to make money, at times even using elaborate magic tricks to deceive others into dependency. The psychic industry is brimming with con artists and fakes. These psychics are responsible for creating the overwhelming stigma attached with the very word psychic.

The second reason psychics have become the target of skeptics is that people naturally fear what they do not understand. When a person claims to be able to know information that transcends the 5 senses as well as time, it often creates fear in others. Many people who grow up investing so much belief in the physical world, have a very stable view of the world for the most part. This is a left-brain scientific materialistic way to view reality. And when that reality is challenged, it can be very frightening for some people. It creates a feeling of betrayal and surprise, based on being confronted with the possibility that everything they’ve been told about the world to date may actually be very wrong. When a psychic is seen as “in the know” about a side of reality which others are blind to, it can make the psychic seem non human, which can then make them seem frightening. And so often by default, psychics cause others to feel completely lost and afraid without bearings in reality and vulnerable to the unknown.

This perceived loss of reality, control and bearings often challenges self concept as well. It is natural that people want to feel valid as individuals. When one person demonstrates extrasensory abilities which another person does not yet possess, the non possessing party has the tendency of feeling invalidated and “less than” which leads to an instant defensive reaction of trying to undermine the other parties’ credibility. It is a subconscious act of self preservation for a person to try to undermine anything that makes them feel vulnerable or deficient.

The third reason psychics are the target of skeptics is that society today, is a society of skepticism. We belong to a society which for the most part has forgotten the role that both the mind and spirit plays in reality and so, many of us see the world as a static reality that exists separate of the mind. If we approach the world this way, believing is then thought to be the result of “seeing”. This is unfortunate because the underline, forgotten truth of life is that seeing is the direct result of first believing.

We live in a universe which is at its base, made of energy, energy which is vibrating. Thoughts are one of the most dominant energetic vibrations within this universe. All matter began as a thought. All matter that you see in this physical dimension is simply energy vibrating in such a way that it takes on static properties. When it does this, you perceive things with your five senses as being solid. Your expectation (thought) manifests that vibrating energy into its form. This is the way that thoughts become things. You are, literally, creating your reality. You are doing it every day with the thoughts that you are thinking. This presents a problem for skeptics because this means that if a skeptic is expecting a psychic to be wrong, they will literally manifest proof to that effect. To manifest or attract anything into your life which is the opposite of what thoughts you are offering, defies universal law.

The definition of a skeptic is one who maintains a doubting attitude, as toward truths, values, plans, statements, or the character of others innately or habitually. Skepticism is therefore a direct opposing energetic vibration to believing. It is impossible for someone to be offering thoughts of doubt and thoughts of disbelief and receive proof which will make them believe. And so, there is literally no way to convince someone who has already taken the stance of skepticism of the validity of a claim.

Although there have been many well respected scientists, universities and institutes which have tested extra sensory perception with amazingly conclusive and proof positive results. A problem which continues to give skeptics reason to undermine psychics in society is that psychic ability, does not often respond well to testing. The main reason for this is that intuitive information is completely undermined by stress, fear and pressure.

There is a misguided and common expectation for psychics to be all knowing, all feeling and all seeing. It is not an expectation people hold of experts and professionals in other fields. But the expectation for psychics to be omniscient is pervasive in society. This expectation leads to the immediate reaction of wanting to test a psychic in order to believe that they are real. Most psychics will inevitable run into a scenario in which a person will say something like…. How many fingers am I holding behind my back? Or what did I have for dinner last night? Or I’ve just asked my dead grandfather a question in my mind for which only he will have the answer, if you can really talk to spirits, then what’s the answer? This kind of testing is completely counter productive for two reasons. The first reason, being that the stress which is the result of performance anxiety within the psychic completely obscures intuitive information. The second being that seeing a psychic means getting only the information which you need from non physical, as you need it. Information that is needed is information which helps you or someone else on their path; in other words information which is relevant and helpful.

Most psychics alive today, are up against a very strong opposition made up of skeptics and disbelievers who expect a kind of god-like performance from them as well as people who think that those who exhibit psychic gifts have given their souls over to the evil and occult. As you can imagine, this pressure creates serious internal conflict for a psychic because psychics are human just like any one else. Psychics, like all people are not immune to insecurity, self doubt, fear and weaknesses.

Strong emotions cloud intuition which is why it is so important to become adept at both clearing the mind as well as being able to selectively focus in order to improve psychic accuracy and clarity. Whenever a person is challenged and put on the spot to perform, their stress levels rise, especially if there is a lot of risk in the potential of failing to perform. Stress reduces the ability to pay close attention to anything and fear impairs focus. Focus is the act of concentrating fully and intently, without distractions. This loss of focus which comes along with stress and fear greatly influences the ability to use mental powers to the fullest of their ability. Stress obscures psychic information from the mind making it literally impossible to receive it in its pure, un judged form. Even the very best psychics can fall prey to this performance anxiety and get terrible results because of it.

Psychics are not omniscient and immune to human experience, they can have blind spots just like everyone else (most especially for themselves) and they can occasionally project their own life on to others just like everyone else can. They have fears and insecurities, and short comings just like every one else. Most genuine psychics are simply empathetic, insightful, and deeply caring people who possess the innate talent of accessing and interpreting intuitive information (which exists outside of the five senses) at will. It is a talent much like a talent for athletics, or a talent for mathematics. Psychic talents do not make someone a kin to a god any more than the talent for mathematics does. It is as irrational to expect perfect performance from them as it is to expect perfect performance from a mathematician.

And regardless of how much innate talent an individual has, all great gifts benefit from being honed, cultivated and improved.

The pressure and stress of tests aside, it is also very difficult to come up with tests which cover all of the forms of psychic ability. When people hear about psychics, there is a tendency to think that there is only one type of psychic. When in fact there are many forms which psychic ability takes such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, acting as a medium, channeling, empathy, clairsentience, precognition, retro cognition, remote viewing, psychokenisis, animal telepathy, plant telepathy, mineral telepathy, bio-alteration healing, astral projection, aura reading, psychometry, divining, dowsing, telepathy, and telekinesis. Though there is definite overlap between abilities which any psychic may possess. Most psychics specialize in just one or a few of these abilities. The vast majority of psychic tests measure clairvoyance, a common type of ESP. But, there are many types of psychic talents, and clairvoyance is only one of them. If a psychic possesses a talent which has nothing to do with clairvoyance, they will most likely not do well on such tests.

True psychics are also often put in a very tight spot when they receive information which is not meant to be shared. In fact, being psychic can some along with a heavy dose of moral dilemma. There is often a thin line between what information is helpful for a person to hear and what information is harmful for a person to hear. Many times, a psychic will receive information which is for their knowing alone. Information of that nature helps the psychic better understand (and form a more complete picture of) the person seeking help. If for example a psychic receives images of repressed memories from the client, they may come with a strong message that the client is not ready to re-experience these memories. Sharing these impressions with the client would be a detriment to healing but the psychic or healer is given these impressions so that they are aware that they are dealing with a client with trauma encoded in their energetic blue print. Another example of this is that a psychic may perceive that a person is currently a match to illness or death very soon. If the psychic was to tell the person this, it would most likely result in fear instead of the client shifting directions. And so, it is often detrimental for a psychic to expose everything they receive to the person asking. No matter how badly a psychic wants to be taken seriously, telling a client information which is detrimental to their path towards wellness is a complete contradiction to morality and good intention. It is therefore very important for people seeking out psychic guidance to know that when it comes to psychic information, you get the information you’re meant to get. And what you think you need to know is not necessarily what you do in fact need to know.

Skepticism does not (as is popularly thought) denote intelligence; it denotes that a person has resigned themselves to being closed off to anything which exists beyond the physical world. This kind of thinking (in which one closes them self off to possibility) leads to unhappiness and it leads to illness. Because of this, the life of a skeptic, though understandable, is no life at all. Regardless of whether one believes or does not believe in psychics, a life worth living, is one in which a person is brave enough to open themselves up to possibility. A life worth living is one in which a person is brave enough to open themselves to information which has the potential to help them live according to their highest self, happiness, health, path and purpose regardless of where that information happens to come from.

Real Psychic Readings and Why It’s Not So Easy to Find an Authentic Psychic

A psychic reading is something that can be a very rewarding as well as a valuable experience. It is something that is not so hard to find; you can find them on networks on the web, you can find ads for them in the back of magazines, or promoted on television commercials. They are not hard to find–or are they?

With the immediate availability of psychic readers all over the world, it should be a very simple process to find one. One of the most common ways to find a psychic is to do a search on the internet. You type in real psychic readings or “authentic psychic readings.” After all, with the very prevalent perception of all psychics being fake or tricksters, you definitely want to be careful in your search because you want to make sure that you are going to get a real one. Most of us know that intuition exists and there is quite a bit of documentation out there supporting the credibility of gifted persons who are able access energy and see information connected to you clairvoyantly, empathically and in other ways. Some use their natural gifts without any tools while others use their gifts using divination tools such as tarot cards, numerology, runes, I Ching, and list goes on. In short, people with special “spiritual gifts” have the ability to tune into people voluntarily and sometimes involuntarily, giving them access to hidden truths and eventualities about others.

But wait…..hold on….

Let’s say you are one who has had many psychic readings. You’ve gone to so many and you’ve heard many things that sounded true, things that you hoped would turn out to be true, and you spent a lot of time and money waiting for the predictions you were told would happen, to happen. After talking to so many and being told the same things by so many, and after patiently waiting, nothing ever happens. Why is that?

It is either extremely fortunate that psychic networks are able to find thousands of genuine psychic advisers from all over the world, or, perhaps they have taken the opportunity to take advantage of the fact that many people who are hurting and vulnerable will readily believe that people who symbolize or represent spiritual integrity are authentic. Basically, they say they are psychic, so therefore they must be. Well, no, not true.

The point that I try to bring home to people is that those that represent themselves, and especially through networks (because of the sheer numbers), to be psychic are not necessarily psychic. And you should not have to call hundreds of psychics to find one real one. The reason this topic is so important is that you could spend thousands of dollars only to find yourself disillusioned beyond belief because you came to place to get answers and clarity.

It is important to understand that the widespread perception of what a psychic is, from the seekers point of view in the first place, is that when you call one, they will tell you the “GOOD” that is going to happen in your future. After all, you most likely are calling because you are hurting and feeling in need of something good to happen or are hoping that some new situation will turn out in your favor. This is not “Psychic Reading,” this is “Fortune Telling.” This is the current paradigm that exists for a large number of psychic services worldwide. The so-called psychic advisers are doing their job as they have been trained to do–tell the caller something good, never tell them anything bad (and the truth is not bad, but we must not assume they even know the truth), make them feel good. This is their job!! Remember that! Their job is to make you, the caller, feel really good. And when this happens, you feel almost intoxicated with the belief in what they have said, and almost readily you accept the scenario and quite often you begin to feed off of it, even if is not true, was never true and will never be true.

So, fortune telling, that’s what you’re getting from large masses of available psychics waiting to take your call–it’s like fast food. Satisfying at first, but oh so bad for you in the long run. Most are trained script readings whose job it is to tell you your good fortune. There are variations of course. Some are better than others and the worse cases I’ve seen are those who have talent and try to con you into giving them money in exchange for removing negative energy or curses. This is ludicrous. And because of this, there is a prevalent negative perception of psychics in general from skeptics and critics who clump everybody into this fortune telling category. So in order to break away from this stigma, real psychics have a job to do in order to separate them from this unfortunate reality. It is not easy because the few real ones are often working on the same networks and it’s like finding a minnow in the sea.

The answer to this problem is, of course, awareness. After you become aware of the truth about this “imitation” psychic paradigm, then your eyes begin to open, the veil is removed and the secret exposed and it begins to lose its power over you. Now you will be more careful in your selection of a psychic adviser and you will tend to not believe everything that is said in a “for-entertainment-only-type psychic reading. Where there are literally thousands of psychics waiting to take your call, there is a slim chance of finding an authentic one who represents the highest professional standard of training and education in the divination arts. Take this advice:

1. Take yourself and your psychic seriously, or, resign yourself to entertainment only status;

2. Avoid networks that do not regulate their requirements for their psychics and search for real psychic readings;”

3. Look for a private psychic consultation;

This is important. Suppose you were looking for a therapist or other professional practitioner. After you found someone, you would not go from this one to that one persistently.

4. Ask yourself, why am I doing this with psychics?

There can be deeper reasons why this behavior can occur, but is it that you “didn’t hear what you wanted,” or you “weren’t convinced, or you “need to hear it over and over?” But, generally, when we find a professional that is good for us, we tend to stick with that person. That is what I have found with my clients. My clients usually are either new to psychic readings or they have already gone through the psychic reading circuit and are ready for authentic answers based in the Truth. Those are the people that find me. I can’t tell you how many people call me daily to tell me their stories about their experiences with fake psychics including the most notorious scheme about the curse or negative block that must be removed. This is a despicable scam, but I cover this topic in my article about fake psychics and how to spot them. (See, How To Spot A Fake Psychic-Changing the “Imitation” Psychic Paradigm). Fake psychics are an abundant reality. Understanding this truth is the first step in finding a real psychic counselor.

You have to be discerning, you have to take responsibility for your life and be a part of your spiritual reading because it is your spirit and intuition that is equally at play in a genuine psychic reading. You are part it, not separate from it. A real psychic reading can open you up to spiritual awareness in you that will empower you in your life. A real psychic reading was never intended to be a substitute for you fully engaging in all the aspects of life involving choice and action. Think of life as a school, you are here to learn, to grow and that cannot happen if you are not fully engaged. Never use a psychic as a substitute for life choices because this limits you and we are all limitless beings capable of tremendous achievements. Definitely, there are real psychics who understand their true role in this type of service; but it is service, and the seeker has to be aware of how to use a psychic reading for their benefit which is also the responsibility of the real psychic intuitive in adhering to a high standard. With your awareness, a real psychic reading can work wonders.

  • Some Helpful Tips for Your Search

When searching on the web for a psychic reading you are now aware of the pitfalls of large networks with no standardized qualifications for their psychic advisers. This puts you the seeker at a disadvantage right off the bat.

Use search terms like real psychic readings, real psychic, authentic psychic readings, real testimonials for psychic readings about the one you are researching. In other words, be conscious about your search.

When evaluating a psychic’s site, make sure it’s not just a one-pager with no apparent history and just a phone number or buy buttons. If you cannot find out anything about the psychic, don’t call them. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about some private sites too that are just scammers waiting for you to come along. Do the following when searching for an established private psychic intuitive:

  1. Find out how long their site has been up? You can do this by doing an search for their domain name.
  2. Also, search for their name in the search engines and see what’s up.
  3. Check and search for their name and see if there are any negative reports about them.

See, didn’t think you’d have so much homework did you? It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible either. Just Be Conscious and Be Authentic With Yourself. Unless, it’s alright with you to get “feel-good” readings, the above tips for finding a real adviser will help you in your search for authentic spiritual counseling.

Psychic Readings – What Can a Psychic Really Tell You?

If you are familiar with me and my concepts, then you may already be aware that I have been trying to help change some of the negative views that many people have about psychics and what they do. Since I have covered some of those aspects in other articles I want to focus more on what a psychic should be and what you can reasonably expect to learn from a psychic reading.

The most profound concept that came into my awareness at the beginning of this journey for me as a “psychic” advisor was the idea that we are all here to learn something; to grow and evolve towards perfection of the soul. When a real psychic is doing their job, they are assisting you in an awareness of certain aspects of your life when you seek out psychic advice. The reason psychic advice can be so powerful is because it can provide much needed insight into your life that you would otherwise not be aware of because you may be so embroiled in the day-to-day activities and events of your life that you shut out your own intuition and your own ability to access your Higher Self. Psychics are accessing unseen elements in nature; however within all of us exists a hidden, decipherable code that persons with highly developed psychic intuition and/or with the use of certain divination tools, can more readily access. These persons were either born with a natural gift and/or has developed it.

Once I found my true path, I decided to make it my mission to help those who seek it to find the power of their inner world and to access Higher Consciousness through spiritual practice. A psychic (a term which really is not to me accurately descriptive of what we do) is supposed to help you to help yourself. Not take the place of your own inner powers, insights or judgment by showing you that you can do this for yourself. A true intuitive psychic should be used for guidance and to give you probable outcomes based on the energy that you are channeling at the time of your reading. You see, a prediction can change because you have the power to change it, especially after someone tells you they see a thing that will happen but which you have the power to change. This is particularly useful when your advisor sees a possible negative outcome to a situation. This is in actuality an opportunity to change that possibility by changing your thinking, action, reaction or beliefs about a situation. Every conflict is just an opportunity to harmonize energy based on your thoughts and actions. Every outcome is not necessarily pre-ordained and fixed.

Many people need help to find their way and when you are speaking with a talented, authentic psychic, you are opening up more possibilities in exercising your free will to be at cause in your life as opposed to being effected by uncontrollable circumstances. Deep profound insights into your life can have a powerful effect on your consciousness and bring about the very thing you want, empowerment. It’s a much touted word these days, but it is for real. It is the quest that all souls (whether they know it or not) are moving towards as we travel the spiral upwards to perfection.

Having said all of that, what a psychic can tell is varied. First, you have to establish what kind of information you are seeking. Second, you have to find the right psychic who can provide you with this information. Now, not all psychics are created equal and this article assumes that you have done your homework and have established that you are working with a professional and ethical practitioner.

Know Your Psychic – Different Psychics Have Different Areas of Expertise

There are some psychics out there who claim to be 100% accurate, can tell all, knows all, that they are a psychic, a medium, an astrologer, crystal reader, reiki master, etc. I find that psychics that claim to be everything to everyone, most likely are probably neither professional nor ethical. Find out specifically what your psychic does best! Many professional psychics will tell you what they can and cannot do. For instance, a medium can be a psychic but all psychics are not mediums. So if you are wishing to contact a loved one who has crossed over, then you should seek an authentic psychic medium. All psychics are NOT mediums. Some psychics are clairvoyant (which means clear seeing) and have visions. In my experience, I have talked with many clairvoyant psychics who are indeed able to “see” visions in the past, present or future. The same goes for someone who is empathic who can “feel” another’s emotions. Some psychics can do both, but some can do only one or two practice areas very well.

Different Psychics Have Different Methods

Whether your psychic is clairvoyant, clairaudient, empathic, telepathic, a medium, uses divination tools such as Tarot, Runes, I Ching, or even numerology and astrology, the extent to which they can tell you certain information will be based on their experience in their craft, their skill, knowledge and natural gifts. All these elements play a part in getting you accurate psychic information during your reading and you especially want someone who is knowledgeable if they are going to be able to help you based on channeling from a higher realm. Some psychics use tools, some do not. Depending on how a psychic worker discovered their gift and how they have practiced it, will determine their skill level. I recall seeing a program on television where this psychic actually read peoples’ butts (yes, their behinds). There were actually people showing her their butts and she would read them. Go figure. No one should ever judge what it is that connects a person with higher consciousness. For some it may be the Tarot for others could be butts, but spiritual gifts come in all shapes and sizes, no pun intended. It is mastery that should concern us. Psychic mastery is a discipline like anything else and anyone seeking psychic advice should want someone who has mastered their gift to a certain degree in order to help others with it.

Some Common Pitfalls to Watch Out For

I have found through many years of using psychics, clairvoyants, etc. that some can see certain types of things but may not be able to assist you at all with what it is that concerns you. For instance, you call someone who claims to be clairvoyant and you want to know whether or not you will have a reconciliation with your lover and she sees that you have a new puppy and that you’re wearing a yellow scarf and you are blown away by this information. Wow, incredible. That is a gift for sure–to be able to do that and see that without seeing or knowing the person. So many everyday people have psychic gifts but that does not necessarily make them capable of helping you with a serious situation in your life that requires specialized help or someone who is experienced and knowledgeable and skilled in their craft at getting you real psychic answers channeled from Higher Consciousness.

Now even though that particular clairvoyant was able to see what you were wearing and that you had a new puppy does not mean that they can see clearly and profoundly the answers you seek. Their ability may not be a match for your concerns. I have found that people who are amazed by just small, little things like that tend to believe everything that clairvoyant says when in reality their gift is a gift of seeing “You” physically and what is in your physical surroundings, which is an excellent talent called remote viewing BUT is not a skill match for your reconciliation question or your career question. It is worth developing as a methodology for certain types of readings. But the tendency to “believe” everything from that point on is very strong because to an inexperienced seeker of psychic advice, this is amazing enough to cause you to make the erroneous determination that this person can see “everything”. And that is not the case many times over. So all this is to say, ask the psychic you may be calling or contacting to spell out exactly what their expertise is and you make the determination that this psychic is the one for you.

If a psychic is empathic, they can “feel” another’s feelings/emotions. If a psychic is telepathic, they can know another’s thoughts. If a psychic is clairvoyant they can see the past, the present and the future through visions. If a psychic is clairaudient, they receive/hear information even sounds in their mind. If a psychic is clairsentient, they can actually capture information through physical sensations associated with you or a person you are asking about. Keep in mind that the skill level of each practitioner is going to vary and this is another bit of information you want to inquire about. How much experience do they have?

All these abilities alone if untrained or at the beginning stages may not be able to assist you but when combined with training, experience and knowledge, you can a have a most unique experience with an authentic intuitive advisor that can help you in powerful ways that will assist you in your personal empowerment, provide insightful answers to your questions and probable outcomes. Remember, outcomes are based on the current energy that surrounds you at the time of your reading and without a doubt can change. Many people are under the mistaken perception that if it’s meant to be, then there is nothing you can do to change a thing. There are indeed some things that occur in every life that are destined to be because of certain preordained events that must take place in the life for your soul’s growth or in many, many cases, due to karmic debts and the resulting correction of imbalances created by misuse of certain energies in previous lifetimes. Then there are other life experiences where free will is at play and it is your very decision or action that is the thing that is being tested. So a psychic reading is not meant to bypass experience because your soul will undergo what it must to complete its “stopover” on this plane of existence, but an expert psychic reading can help you to identify that which is eluding you or some point you seem to be missing and help point you in the right direction. Or, your psychic can identify a block or a karmic pattern that you are having trouble dealing with. Sometimes it’s not just what Mom and Dad did to us as children. Sometimes just to become self-aware is empowering in and of itself. To become aware of something significant through guided spiritual forces can have an overwhelming effect on a person. It could be that very moment which becomes a turning point in your life. The true psychic spiritual advisor has done their job well if they can help you in this way. But they are not a substitute for experience and a professional, ethical psychic would never try to make you dependent on them.

What a Psychic Should Not be Telling You

Also, conversely, we should take a look at, what a psychic should not be telling you. A psychic should not be telling you what decisions to make. Always take away from your reading empowering elements that help you to make your own decisions about your life. An ethical and responsible psychic should never predict death. They should not propose doing spells for you that will change the course of events or another person or to negatively affect another’s life supposedly for your benefit. Engaging in this type of activity will only bring about negative karma on you and this psychic, and the karmic consequences could be devastating. This is totally unethical. A psychic should never tell you that they can make something happen for you because that is patently false. No one else can “make” something happen for you because a psychic advisor does not have any special powers to control your fate or others behavior. Psychic advisors are suppose to be spiritual people who have chosen to help others using spiritually developed talents but never choosing to use those talents to boost their own ego, control another’s will, or make you psychologically dependent. Those types are out there. Beware of psychics who tell you that they will need to perform “energy work” on you through long meditations at a great cost. If they tell you you have a negative block or curse this is a notorious psychic scam. If you encounter a psychic like this, even if they do seem to have psychic ability, do yourself a favor and hang up or leave immediately.

So, know your psychic, have a clear idea of what it is you need to know so you can make the best selection. Ask your psychic what they specialize in because no one specializes in everything. Let them stick to what they know or at which they are best doing. And make sure that they have training and experience. There is nothing worse than getting a psychic reading from someone who does not know what they are doing even if they may have a gift that is undeveloped and not qualified towards something specific. Do your homework, ask the right questions and realize the limitations of a psychic practitioner. No one but God is all-knowing and 100% accurate. Ignore anyone that makes these types of claims. That’s just for the gullible and uninformed.
